Dear Yuletide Writer,
Thank you for writing for me! I hope you have a wonderful Yuletide. Our shared rare fandom is joy, optional details are optional, and please don't get eaten by bears.
Things I like to read include: adventure, ghost stories, humour, horror, slice-of-life, alternate universes, tragedy, suffering, irony, drama, mystery, complicated characters, complicated relationships, character development, underexplored parts of canon universes, plot twists, banter, capable/competent characters, female characters having adventures and being central to the story, femslash, gen, het, slash, rare characters in the spotlight, unusual stories, being surprised, and many other things that hopefully cover what you enjoy writing. I'd love to read a story you want to write.
If there're any questions about this letter, feel free to go through the Yuletide Mods, or simply write the story you want to write - I'd much rather read fic that went in a direction you liked writing than a story that stuck to a prompt that wasn't working for you.

The Merry Widow is delightful. I love the comedy combined with such an interesting, passionate relationship at the heart of it. There have been many adaptations, interpretations, and settings - I'd love to read any version of the story. I would be happy to read a story focused on a nominated or non-nominated character. I love Hanna's intelligence, pride, kindness, resilience, and wit; I'd love to read about Hanna having an adventure, solving a mystery or resolving a problem, whether on her own or teamed with Danilo. Or Kromow/Zeta slash would be fun. I like the joke in some adaptations: "I love you!"/"Now, General, call me old fashioned, but I still prefer 'don't ask, don't tell'!" What if Zeta and Kromow found love with each other? I also like Valencienne's character and her friendship with Hanna very much.

Some prompts:
Fandom: Baldur's Gate (video game)
Fantasy adventure bildungsroman with a host of amazing characters.
Characters: Any

I'd love to read about an adventure with your favourite combination of characters. Baldur's Gate is the fandom I keep coming back to, because there are so many stories and possibilities and styles and twists and tangents to explore. Ghost story, swords and adventure, unjust suffering, friends and laughter, bizarre mystery, love.
I haven't played the extended editions, but I'd still enjoy reading fic about the characters/settings there as long as it has a lot of exposition. Nominated or non nominated, joinable companions or the weirdest minor characters, the strangest and most unlikely bedfellows or long-term canonical pairings, alternate universes, original characters - all welcome.
Fandom: Legendsong (book series)
These are the signs by which the Unraveller shall be known:
Half-blind yet seeing all,
who is marked by visioning yet without Darkfall mark,
who lives yet sings the death song,
who is born yet is not of the Song of Making,
who is gifted from the great waters,
who is crowned in bright flames. - Legendsong of the Unykorn
Astounding portal fantasy about a world created by a song, awaiting a hero from Earth in a strange and shadowy quest.
Characters: Any (Glynn Flanders, Coralyn of Iridom, Alene, Sharra)
Source: Isobelle Carmody's website
Glynn/Coralyn femslash. Glynn is mostly or wholly attracted to men, but her narrative descriptions of Coralyn become very sensual and seductive. Ember is disinterested in romance, but her descriptions of Coralyn are also very sensual and seductive. Coralyn's sexual and seductive charisma is clearly off the charts. Would Coralyn seduce or coerce Glynn into bed with her (or atop a dresser, in a spa, on an acrobatic trapeze set, etc.)? Would Glynn feel rotten about it? What are the next stages of Coralyn's amazing plots and counterplots to gain power?
Alternatively, Glynn adventuring or Coralyn plotting, singly or together, would be lovely to read about with or without femslash. Coralyn's capability and intelligence fascinate me and I'd love to learn more about her past and what makes her tick. Or could Coralyn ever manage to win in a way that would be both good for her and good for Keltor? Glynn's warm spirit and delight in ordinary things combined with her desire to travel beyond the horizon make her an amazing heroine.
Alene is a remote, wise soulweaver who sees more and further than others. In Alene's backstory, her childhood friend Tarsin fell in love with her, used a darklin and saw a vision of her torrid, passionate, illicit love affair with Argon the white cloak, caused Argon's banishment to Eron isle, resented Alene ever after and yet would never let her leave his side. I'd love to read more about Alene's past, or about her future. Does Alene foresee her own doom in the coming storm to cross Keltor? Will Alene ever see a time after the end of all her prophecies and the purpose of her order is fulfilled? Is there an alternate universe, a road taken or not taken, that Alene might have gone down and in so doing changed the fate of her world?
I love the glimpse of Sharra's life as an ordinary person on Keltor who brushes up unknowingly against some world-shattering events. Like all 'ordinary' people, Sharra is extraordinary in her own way. I'd love to read more about Sharra, a story about her audition for the songmakers or her perspective on Keltan events or even a story about the serial killer whom gossip says is active near her district.

Some prompts:
- Hanna and Danilo find Romantic-with-a-capital-R and political intrigue after the story - e.g. does Pontevedro/Marsovia/Whatever You Prefer To Call It have any similarities to Ruritania (I mean more the 'swords and disguises and plots and honour' sense than the 'adultery' sense)?
- Hanna's first marriage and the new experiences she found through it
- Hanna and Valencienne's friendship
- Zeta and Kromow earning medals, or reminiscing about them
- Marital shenanigans with Kromow, Zeta, Valencienne, Olga, and others. I love Valencienne. I saw a version of the show where the actor playing Valencienne utterly stole the show by being so charming and lawless and human and relatable, doing something naughty and knowing it and being so comical all the time!
